Dundee High School’s retiring head of art, David Macdonald, has commemorated his severing of ties with the school by presenting them with a whole set of new ones. Mr Macdonald, who lives in Carnoustie, has spent 23 years at the school, 16 of them spent as head of the department. The ties are navy blue and bear a design depicting the school pillars surmounted by a saltire and a thistle. They are to be presented to pupils who represent their country in any activity at any level.
