Honoured by the Queen
Three distinguished figures from the fields of science, health and music have been awarded Royal Society of Edinburgh Royal Medals by the Queen.
Professor Peter Boyle, president of the International Prevention Research Institute, Professor Tessa Holyoake, director of the Paul O’Gorman Leukaemia Research Centre at Glasgow University, and Donald Runnicles, chief conductor at the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, were all honoured.
The Queen and city Lord Provost Frank Rosswith leave afterwards.
