New Stoats oats factory
Scottish oats firm Stoats has opened a new factory.
The company – which produces more than nine million porridge oat bars a year – has built a new facility at Bilston Glen Industrial Estate south of Edinburgh.
The new building will initially house 40 bakery, sales, marketing and operations staff.
However, Stoats is keen to expand the workforce further.
Managing director Tony Stone said: “The new factory gives us the opportunity to realise our ambitious plans, including increasing distribution across the UK and internationally.
“We can be more agile in our approach and we’re better placed to meet the demands of retailers and consumers.”
