The Menu Food and Drink Awards 2018

The best in food and drink revealed

- Catriona MacInnes, Acting Editor

This week each of the amazing individuals and businesses featured over the coming pages will gather at the Old Course Hotel in St Andrews on Thursday March 15 for the gala Menu Food and Drink Awards ceremony, which will be hosted by Jacqueline O’Donnell.

This is the inaugural awards and, as a member of the judging panel, I can handon-heart say the judges were blown away by the calibre and diversity of the entries.

To say we faced a tough task in whittling down the entries is a major understatement; the quality of the applications we received was outstanding, and even the task of drawing up a shortlist was a daunting prospect.

We deliberated and we discussed, we argued and we agreed, and we all felt a passion for those we put through to the final stage.

Our line-up of finalists is hugely varied and it reflects the depth and breadth of the food and drink sector in Courier Country. We are very proud of all the businesses and individuals within our local food and drink industry that go above and beyond expectations. My congratulations go to all of the nominees and I look forward to celebrating with you at the Old Course Hotel on Thursday evening.
