Stagecoach switches to Bridgestone tyres
Perth headquartered transport giant Stagecoach has agreed a new tyre supply deal to service its 9,500 strong bus fleet in the UK.
The group has entered into a five-year deal with manufacturer Bridgestone UK to supply its tyres and provide aftercare services.
“We are very pleased to award this contract to Bridgestone and look forward to working with them over the next five years,” Sam Greer, engineering director for Stagecoach UK Bus, said.
“Bridgestone has secured the Stagecoach contract from a previous longterm supplier of more than two decades and the agreement confirms Bridgestone’s status as the largest tyre provider in the UK bus and coach sector.”
Greg Ward, commercial sales director for Bridgestone, said: “In terms of our European-based fleet contracts, this is our biggest ever.”
The arrangement began on May 1.
