Haymakers on the way, says Haye
David Haye is out for revenge when he takes on Tony Bellew in their heavyweight rematch on Saturday night.
Bellew was the victor in an 11th-round stoppage in the first fight at London’s O2 Arena in March 2017 – a fight in which Haye suffered an Achilles problem.
Speaking at a public workout at Spitalfields Market, Haye said: “Last time I was missing with haymakers. This time I won’t. Last time I was angry and allowed him to get under my skin. It’s been horrible (to live with defeat). Tony’s really rubbed it in but I can’t allow that to happen again. This is my division.”
Bellew said: “He’s close to the end; I’m close to another chapter. You will see. I’m supposed to get knocked out in two rounds. I’m going to shock a few more people.
“I tried to become a heavyweight but I’m not, I’m a cruiserweight. I was born the underdog. I’m fighting for my life on Saturday.”
