Finalist earns Hampden nod

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Good luck message for Scottish full-back

- ROSS ALEXANDER

Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has received a good luck message ahead of tonight’s Champions League final from the stadium 1,500 miles away where his career was launched.

Hampden Park, Scotland’s national stadium, displayed “From Hampden to Kyiv – Good Luck Andy Robertson” on its big screens this week in tribute to the Scotland star.

Robertson has a strong connection with Hampden, having worked there in his youth before launching his club career with Queen’s Park in season 2012-13.

His meteoric rise, which saw him join Dundee United before earning a move to Anfield via Hull City, has seen him return to the stadium to represent Scotland, earning 20 caps to date.

Tonight the 24-year-old will line up for Jurgen Klopp’s Reds against Real Madrid in the biggest game of his life.
