Rural walk for charity
Rural surveyors, Davidson & Robertson are entering into the spirit of the latest RSABI rural fundraising challenge by preparing route maps and walking parts of the Southern Upland Way.
They will join Gregor Caldwell, chairman of the RSABI Ayrshire committee, on stages of the 206mile trek from May 29 to June 7.
One participant, Derek Bathgate, said most of the company’s staff in the south-west came from agricultural backgrounds.
He added: “So we know first hand the importance of the work that RSABI does. Everyone at RSABI works so hard to provide relief to farmers and other land workers who are struggling, and it’s vital that we communicate the message that asking for help is OK.” RSABI is dedicated to helping relieve hardship and poverty among people who depend, or have depended, on the land for their livelihood.
