Naming of plants
Dr Neil Paterson from the University of Dundee Botanic Garden will give a brief history of the scientific naming and classification of plants – including the fascinating (and very odd) Swede Linnaeus and the unsung hero of plant taxonomy, the Englishman John Ray – as part of the Dundee Afternoon Lecture series.
The illustrated lecture, organised by the Friends of the University of Dundee Botanic Garden, will be given in the D’Arcy Thomson Theatre at the University of Dundee on Wednesday, October 17 at 2.15pm. Admission is £2.
