Myers turns on showers

-

ALTON Cricket Club can breathe a huge sigh of relief after their town council agreed to replace the showers at the Harry Baker Pavilion in time for the start of the new season.

The new showers are expected to be working before May 6 – the side’s first home game – when they host Lymington in the Southern Premier League.

The council decided to spend the £48,000 on the new facilities after a meeting on Tuesday and their decision has helped extend the pavilion’s lifespan by ten years as well as maintaining their place in the Southern Premier Division.

“I am relieved by the decision which will enable the members of Alton Cricket Club to reap the benefits of the time and money invested into it,” said club chairman Richard Myers.
