Leach can lead Worcs on the Rhodes to success

WORCESTERSHIRE captain Joe Leach has signed an extended three-year contract at New Road.

Leach, 26, led his side to the Division Two title, while claiming 69 wickets in his first season as skipper.

Director of cricket Steve Rhodes said: “Joe has been so consistent with the ball in Championship cricket. To secure him for the next three years sends a message to everyone.

“We’ve got a lot of our players who are now signed up. The team and the dressing room are sticking together and they are signing longer deals. Hopefully, that will help take us to where we want to be.”
