Tory boss tipped to be new Rio Tinto leader

Mick Davis, the chief ex­ec­u­tive of the Con­ser­va­tive Party and the for­mer head of Xs­trata, has emerged as a front-run­ner to re­place Jan Du Plessis as chair­man of Rio Tinto, ac­cord­ing to re­ports.

Mr Davis is said to be in talks with Rio’s board, the Fi­nan­cial Times and Sky News re­ported, cit­ing peo­ple fa­mil­iar with the mat­ter.
