Ikea lifts UK prices but it ab­sorbs most of cost rises

Ikea’s UK prices were lifted 3.6pc in the year to Au­gust, the group said yes­ter­day, af­ter costs jumped by 13.7pc in the same pe­riod. Ikea re­lies heav­ily on im­ports, and the weak­en­ing of ster­ling caused costs to spi­ral. How­ever, the group said it “ab­sorbed most of these costs” it­self to en­sure ranges re­mained “ac­ces­si­ble and af­ford­able”.
