Boards have ‘work to do’ to hit gen­der tar­gets

Around 40pc of all new FTSE 350 board ap­point­ments in the next two years must be fe­male to meet Gov­ern­ment­backed tar­gets. At the half­way point of the Hamp­ton-Alexan­der re­view, a di­ver­sity study backed by gov­ern­ment, 29pc of FTSE 100 board po­si­tions were held by women, up from 12.5pc in 2011 but still be­low the 33pc tar­get.
