For a dinosaur miniature garden, you will need an old washing-up bowl or a clean litter tray with some drainage holes made in the base. Fill it with growing medium. Choose prehistoric-looking plants such as small ferns and moss – it is fun to add some herbs such as creeping mints or carpeting thymes so that when the dinosaurs fight among the leaves a fragrance is released. If you want the plastic dinosaurs to stand upright in the miniature garden, leave some unplanted space and put down a flat stone or tile. An indoor miniature garden follows the same principles, but uses small offsets of cacti and succulents and the surface is dressed with fine gravel or perlite. Pebbles and small toys can be added
