‘Profusion’ AGM

The Daily Telegraph - Gardening - - On The Spot -

Why

This spreading plant looks exceptional in gardens now and flowers non-stop for 10 of our 12 months. Its wash of dainty daisies first appears brilliant-white, then slowly transforms from pink to cerise red, creating an ever-changing floral display. There’s simply no reason not to grow it.

Where

As it looks at home in both border and pot, the best way to enjoy this free-spirited, must-have perennial is to let it do its thing. It often appears in cracks of walls and crevices of stonework, adding an informal, relaxed charm to the garden. Its lax, sprawling habit produces a billowing canopy of colour when flowering.

How

This erigeron prefers full sun but also thrives in full shade and is not fussy about soil. Prune back untidy floppy stems in June by a third.
