The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ monthly survey found that market activity is still down. House price growth is divided across the country, with strong levels in Scotland and the South West. There is also trouble ahead for renting: 61 per cent of those polled expect more landlords to exit the market in the next 12 months. They also forecast that in the next five years, rents will grow by three per cent a year, outpacing that of house prices at two per cent.
