Scored 20 tries in his debut season for Melbourne Storm to break NRL record, before becoming the youngest player to represent Australia at 18. Named man of the match in the 2008 Stage of Origin decider.
The highs are replaced by lows. Signed for Greater Western Sydney Giants in what was essentially an expensive marketing move, but aside from scoring four goals against Queanbeyan, it was seen as a flop.
Scored two tries on his Test debut against the Lions, and scored eight more in his maiden season for the Wallabies. This year became the first man to receive consecutive John Eales Medals as player of the year.
