Scored 20 tries in his de­but sea­son for Mel­bourne Storm to break NRL record, be­fore be­com­ing the youngest player to rep­re­sent Aus­tralia at 18. Named man of the match in the 2008 Stage of Ori­gin de­cider.

Aussie Rules

The highs are re­placed by lows. Signed for Greater Western Syd­ney Giants in what was es­sen­tially an ex­pen­sive mar­ket­ing move, but aside from scor­ing four goals against Quean­beyan, it was seen as a flop.

Rugby Union

Scored two tries on his Test de­but against the Lions, and scored eight more in his maiden sea­son for the Wal­la­bies. This year be­came the first man to re­ceive con­sec­u­tive John Eales Medals as player of the year.
