Practise saying ‘‘Well done, I thought what you did was marvellous’’ and letting other people think your ideas are theirs.
Stop being so critical. No one wants to hear that you think your department is rubbish. Think Disney’s Bambi: ‘‘If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all.’’
