Electric duo in Car of the Year
The shortlist for the 2014 European Car of the Year award has been announced, writes Andrew English.
In alphabetical order, the cars that have been chosen are: BMW i3, Citroën C4 Picasso, Mazda3, Mercedes S-Class, Peugeot 308, Skoda Octavia and Tesla Model S (right). That’s two batteryelectric cars in the final seven (which are chosen from a list of 30 eligible vehicles).
The cars will be exhaustively tested by each of the 58 judges from 22 European countries (including yours truly) and the winner will be announced on the eve of the Geneva motor show on March 3. Rebecca Jackson demonstrates in our latest video (right).
In the film, Rebecca, copresenter of ITV’s I Want That Car, takes you through the basic checks needed to keep your car in good working order through winter, and avoid stressful and potentially costly breakdowns.
