TRACKING THE TREND

The Daily Telegraph - Saturday - - STYLE -

1979: DISCO DUVETS

Norma Kamali is a bit like the Forrest Gump of New York. If it happened, she was probably there. During the debauched Studio 54’s peak in the late Seventies, she was dating co-founder Ian Schrager. She famously dressed the doormen – and entrepreneur Steve Rubell, right – in her sleeping-bag coats, keeping them warm while they appraised the queues.

2018: UPTOWN PUFFER

The puffer has become a stalwart of the off-duty celebrity look – especially while waiting around on set. North Face is the usual go-to, a brand that says, “Hey! I’m just like you! I get cold, too.” But if you’re searching for something more highbrow, look to Roksanda, the Duchess of Sussex dresser who’s upped the puffy stakes as of late.
