Blow for All Blacks as Moody suffers horrific eye injury
New Zealand will be without Joe Moody for the remainder of their European tour after the 30-year-old loosehead prop suffered an eye injury in training on Tuesday.
Moody split his eyelid during a line-out drill and required three layers of stitches from a plastic surgeon. The wound seemed to have left his left eye virtually closed.
Karl Tu’inukuafe, nominated for World Rugby’s breakthrough player of the year award, is in line to start against England at Twickenham, while coach Steve Hansen confirmed Angus Ta’avao would be called up as a replacement.
