The ones to watch
Having worked as Rihanna’s madeto-measure stylist (and as the creative brains behind her River Island collection), Texan-born Adam Selman knows a thing or two about sar torial statements. His own line, now in its fourth season, has a charming retro feel to it, albeit with a neat shot of modern attitude. Further proof that tapping-up a pop star early on in your career does you no harm, London’s Kitty Joseph worked with Lady Gaga after graduating with an MA in textiles from the Royal College of Art. Her colourful prints follow in the tradition of edgy Brit design, yet with a pretty, feminine touch. And for a/w15 knitwear the progressive Ryan Lo has shifted slightly from his ebullient cartoonesque styling (he is a Hello Kitty obsessive) to produce an ar tful, grown-up collection with a ladylike feel – sheer lace and velvet pussy bows – although his trademark whimsy is still there in hits of candy-coloured knits.
