The new way to layer

The Daily Telegraph - Telegraph Fashion - - THE INSIDER’S GUIDE -

You might think that layering clothes means simply putting garments on top of each other, but as ever fashion likes to think of things in a slightly more nuanced way. Now the aim is to show off as many items as possible, so you need to think about differing lengths to get the most mileage out of an outfit. Blame Instagram show-offs if you will (we do), but a sleeveless coat that reveals the arms of your nice sweater is key; then keep your coat to the knee to show off your trousers. On a silhouette note, a highlighted waist is a thing, so belt it up. Leather kimono, £250, Topshop; cashmere jumper, £135, and trousers with half-skirt, £79, both Cos; shoes, £139, Senso.
