It’s a warn­ing not many ap­pear to heed in the mod­ern era, in which it’s more com­mon to curl up with a good Snapchat than a pa­per­back. As the hordes pour into Hay-on-Wye for the coun­try’s big­gest lit­er­ary fes­ti­val this week­end, how­ever, things ap­pear mo­men­tar­ily dif­fer­ent: print pub­lish­ing still has a happy few on side.
