Ways to foolproof your painting projects

The Daily Telegraph - Telegraph Magazine - - Home & Design - Talib Choudhry

Founded more than 20 years ago by the interior designer David Oliver, Paint & Paper Library has become a favourite with decorators thanks to its unusual palette of 180 colours. The highly pigmented paints are manufactured in the UK using traditional methods, but Oliver often travels to remote destinations to fnd inspirational shades in centuries-old buildings. For those of us who founder when confronted with a paint chart, the Architectural Colours system is a godsend, ofering 95 colours in fve graduated strengths that can be used harmoniously on walls, ceilings and woodwork. Traditionalists may prefer the Original Colours range, of which Erica (a lavender-grey hue shown on the walls here) is the star. From £42.50 for 2.5 litres (paintand paperlibrary.com).
