The Prince spends two terms as an ex­change stu­dent at Tim­ber­top, a re­mote out­post of Gee­long Church of Eng­land Gram­mar School in Mel­bourne, Aus­tralia. Years later he fondly re­called 70-mile hikes in a blood-soaked shirt, and a regime that was ‘hell’ and left him ‘bloody well bushed’. Here, he uses a bush saw to fell a tree. Upon re­turn­ing to Gor­don­stoun for his fi­nal year, he is ap­pointed school guardian (head boy).
