Leicester City

Title odds 2016-17 25-1

The Daily Telegraph - Total Football - - BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE -

Star man Jamie Vardy

The Leicester striker just edges ahead of Riyad Mahrez and N’Golo Kanté – who were both revelations – based on his 24 goals, including the recordbreaking strike against Manchester United (his 11th in a row) and exocet at home to Liverpool.

Lame duck Gokhan Inler

It seems so cruel to be singling out anyone after such a fairy-tale campaign but it is difficult not to feel sympathy for Inler. Signed for £4 million as a replacement for Esteban Cambiasso, he has never looked comfortable with the pace of the English game and failed to start a league game this year.

What’s the verdict on Claudio Ranieri?

What do you think? Ranieri has spectacularly rebuilt his reputation in England, more than 10 years after his shabby departure from Chelsea, and his work this season cannot be overestimated.

What went right?

From the stunning victory over Manchester City to the heartwarming title celebrations, Leicester have captured the imagination of the world. With a talented and hungry squad, diligent recruitment and intuitive management from Claudio Ranieri, it was an unforgettable ride.

What went wrong?

It seems so long ago, but the postseason tour of Thailand was a source of deep embarrassment for the club’s owners. After a racist sex orgy was filmed involving three academy players, who were all sacked, the exit of manager Nigel Pearson shocked fans still basking in the heroic Great Escape.
