For­eign Of­fice alert af­ter Thai king’s death

The death of King Bhu­mi­bol Adulyadej of Thai­land this week is likely to cause dis­rup­tion as the coun­try mourns the world’s long­est serv­ing monarch.

The 88 year-old, who was crowned 70 years ago, died on Thurs­day morn­ing. The coun­try’s Prime Min­is­ter an­nounced a year of mourn­ing, adding that en­ter­tain­ment must be “toned down” for a month.
