Fol­low­ing the 7.5 mag­ni­tude quake last week fur­ther north in the is­land na­tion that trig­gered a pow­er­ful tsunami, the In­done­sian tourist board moved to as­sure trav­ellers that Bali, next door to Lom­bok, “re­mains safe as it is 608 miles (980km) away from Palu”.

Tui is among the tour op­er­a­tors to have moved all their cus­tomers from Lom­bok, while the FCO said trav­ellers there should “be aware of the con­tin­ued risk of af­ter­shocks”.
