France wel­comed

86.9 mil­lion over­seas vis­i­tors in 2017, up three per cent on 84.5 mil­lion the pre­vi­ous year. China re­ceived 60.7 mil­lion last year, mak­ing it the fourth­most pop­u­lar coun­try over­all, but its rate of growth is out­strip­ping France’s. The coun­try re­ceived just 20 mil­lion vis­i­tors in 1995, a third of France’s to­tal that year.
