Scottish Power’s £340 bungle

The Daily Telegraph - Your Money - - READERS’ LETTERS -

Please could you resolve my very difficult situation with Scottish Power? BY, STAFFS

When you left your previous property in October 2014 Scottish Power failed to close the account when it should have done. It then billed you for a further six weeks of supply, for a total of £283.

A second error was made when it created a new electricity account for your new home, which it wasn’t providing power for. It went on to bill you £53 for one month in respect of that address.

You tried to sort this out but couldn’t. My involvement led to £336 for the incorrect charges being refunded and a £200 payment as an apology.
