Can you hurry my as­sets trans­fer?

Could you please in­ter­vene to en­sure a speedy trans­fer af­ter a long de­lay of all my as­sets from Al­liance Trust Sav­ings to my new bro­ker?

Deal­ing with Al­liance Trust Sav­ings on the tele­phone is dif­fi­cult, with long waits on hold be­fore be­ing con­nected to an ad­viser. This is ac­tu­ally why I de­cided to trans­fer the Isas.

Fur­ther to my in­volve­ment, Al­liance Trust Sav­ings pro­cessed the switch for the sum of around £14,000 and, a lit­tle later, paid you the £151 cash bal­ance. It also

sent you a cheque for £250 in recog­ni­tion of the de­lays.

There has been a spate of com­plaints to this col­umn about Al­liance Trust Sav­ings.

In re­sponse to my con­cerns, it said 2017 had been a trans­for­ma­tional year for the com­pany. It said it had “re­struc­tured the busi­ness”, in­clud­ing the re­lo­ca­tion of key staff mem­bers to its Dundee head of­fice.

It also said it was con­tin­u­ing to in­vest in its tech­nol­ogy, which will “com­bine mar­ket-lead­ing plat­form func­tion­al­ity” with its “in­creas­ingly pop­u­lar flat fee propo­si­tion”.
