Richemont goes for mil­len­ni­als

In a bid to win over smart­watch-favour­ing mil­len­ni­als, Richemont Group, owner of blue-chip mar­ques such as Cartier, Pi­aget get and Vacheron Con­stantin, has as un­leashed a new, af­ford­ably priced watch brand, al­beit with a fa­mil­iar sound­ing name: Baume.

Up un­til now the his­toric brand Baume & Mercier (see story, op­po­site top) has rep­re­sented the en­try price for Richemont’s watch­mak­ing, ng, with watches from around £1,000. It re­mains in­tact, but t the suf­fix­less Baume pro­vides es a new of­fer­ing for the group: : uni­sex, cus­tomis­able quartz
