Pair jailed for hiding Becky Watts’s corpse

A couple who helped the murderer of teenager Becky Watts by hiding her remains in a shed have been jailed.

Miss Watts, 16, was suffocated by her stepbrother Nathan Matthews in a sexually motivated kidnap plot with his girlfriend Shauna Hoare.

They cut up her body with a circular saw in a bath then wrapped it in cling film. Matthews promised his neighbour Karl Demetrius, 30, a share of £10,000 for help in moving the eight boxed packages.

Demetrius and his girlfriend Jaydene Parsons, 23, accepted the offer but Bristol Crown Court heard they believed the parcels to be cannabis or stolen goods. Demetrius was jailed for two years and Parsons, a mother of two, for 16 months after both admitted charges of assisting an offender.

Matthews, who was given life, and Hoare, serving 17 years, are appealing their convictions and sentences.
