Britain ‘must reconsider relationship with China’

The Daily Telegraph - - World News -

Britain should reconsider its close relationship with China, a Conservative Party commission will recommend in a report documenting concerns over deteriorating human rights in Hong Kong and on the mainland. The report, to be presented today by Lord Patten of Barnes, the last governor of the former colony of Hong Kong, details what it calls an “unprecedented” crackdown on freedom over the past three years. It says Britain’s relationship with China is not based on an “appropriately critical friendship”.
