Show business The selling and reselling of tickets

-

Reselling tickets to third parties is a breach of the Royal Albert Hall’s terms and conditions.

In this case, the Royal Albert Hall is the concert venue but not the promoter, so their security staff take instructions from producers and promoters of the Phil Collins tour, Live Nation.

Organisers are able to sell tickets with extra security levels, with names printed on them and ticket-holders instructed to bring photo ID to prove they are the true buyers – but in the past, this had led to complaints about queues.

This time, seats are sold with ordinary tickets, meaning it is harder for security staff to identify the original buyer.

The Royal Albert Hall said: “People who resell our tickets break our terms and conditions, but it is hard to trace.”
