Your terrier is not family, couple told in eviction battle

- By Leon Watson

A COUPLE will have to pay £20,000 in costs after losing a court case to keep their Yorkshire-Maltese cross terrier in their £1 million penthouse flat.

The Mayor’s and City of London Court ruled that Gabby Kuehn, 45, a recruitment consultant, and her banker husband Florian, 42, were in breach of the “no pets” rule at the gated estate in Limehouse, east London.

Mrs Kuehn had claimed that the dog was part of the family and had a “therapeutic effect” on her. Judge Donald Cryan said all the couple’s defence came down to was “I love my dog”.

Victory Place, the property management company, was granted an injunction yesterday to have the dog, Vinnie, evicted from the Docklands flat. However, it can stay while the couple take their fight to the Court of Appeal.
