Ireland rules out Brexit customs

Ireland does not need customs posts to enforce its border after Brexit, the country’s tax chief has said.

Niall Cody, chairman of Revenue Commissioners, rejected reports that locations were being sought to build new checkpoints.

Speculation has led to landowners along the 310-mile border between Ireland and Northern Ireland – which will become an EU/UK frontier – offering to sell their land.
