Conservative majority 9,671 A safe Tory seat, held by Mark Field since 2001. Images of the Prime Minister chatting to traders at Smithfield market were designed to boost her party’s credentials as pro-small business. Voted Remain by 76 per cent.
9am Southampton Test
Labour majority 3,810 Mrs May will be hoping to overturn Alan Whitehead’s majority to re-take this seat from Labour for the first time since it won the constituency as part of Tony Blair’s 1997 landslide. Voted Remain by 52 per cent.
12.30pm Norwich North
Conservative majority 4,463 Almost 6,000 Ukip votes are potentially up for grabs here after the pro-brexit party bowed out of the campaign and urged its supporters to vote for the Conservative Chloe Smith rather than allow the election of a Labour MP. Voted Leave by 62 per cent.
3.30pm Nottingham South
Labour majority 6,936 Labour have held this seat since 1992. Lilian Greenwood, the incumbent, has been a prominent critic of Jeremy Corbyn, having resigned from his shadow cabinet last year. Voted Remain by 56 per cent.
6pm Meriden
Conservative majority 18,795 Dame Caroline Spelman increased her already sizeable majority in 2015 despite a strong challenge from Ukip, whose share of the vote rose by 10 per cent. The Conservatives will be hoping to head off a further rise by the pro-brexit party and soak up its support. Voted Leave by 59 per cent.
