Google Maps enters Margaret Court row

The Margaret Court Arena was unofficially renamed on Google Maps as controversy continues to surround the former tennis champion’s views on homosexuality and gay marriage.

The Australian tennis legend’s homophobic comments, which prompted a suggestion from fellow former tennis pro Martina Navratilova that the Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne should be renamed the Evonne Goolagong Arena, in honour of another Australian tennis star.

The court appeared as Evonne Goolagong Arena on Google Maps yesterday, although it was not clear whether it was the work of a hacker.
