Firms want access to single market

Access to the single market must be put firmly back on the agenda or jobs could be lost to other countries, a business group has urged.

The EEF, which speaks for 20,000 manufacturing concerns, said that unless a more pro-business stance is taken in EU talks, firms could be forced to quit the UK. It said almost one in four manufacturers were reviewing their strategy before last week’s election.
