TINA SCERRI

Antiques dealer

Racing has been in Tina Scerri’s blood thanks to her late father, turf accountant Ronald Sainsbury.

Having just been left some money by her father, she thought there was no better way of keeping his memory alive than buying into High Secret, particularly as he was a big fan of High Secret’s sire, High Chaparral.

“Elite [Racing Club] opened the door for us, but I never quite felt we owned the horse. But for the price of a small car we’ve had such a thrill,” she said. “We’ve been able to enjoy racing from the inside, with stable visits, excellent information and hospitality.

“I bought into High Secret to keep Dad’s memory alive. We’re living the dream that he would have wanted, and I don’t think he would have quite believed we would now be mixing with jockeys and trainers and have made so many friends from their ranks.”
