‘Gen­tle’ mosque vic­tim died of mul­ti­ple in­juries

The 51-year-old man killed in the at­tack out­side Fins­bury Park mosque in Lon­don died from mul­ti­ple in­juries, a post-mortem ex­am­i­na­tion has found.

Makram Ali, from Haringey, was mar­ried with six chil­dren and two grand­chil­dren. In a state­ment, his fam­ily said they were “dev­as­tated” by the loss of their “quiet” and “gen­tle” rel­a­tive.

They said he col­lapsed due to a weak leg be­fore fall­ing vic­tim to a van driver who drove into pedes­tri­ans in the area, which was busy with wor­ship­pers. Nine oth­ers were taken to hos­pi­tal.

De­tec­tives con­tinue to ques­tion 47-year-old sus­pect Dar­ren Os­borne.
