‘Terrorist’ messaging app blocked in Indonesia
Telegram, an encrypted messaging service, will shut down “terroristrelated” public channels, its founder said, after Indonesia’s government blocked all access citing concerns that several forums were “full of radical and extremist propaganda”.
Pavel Durov, founder of the messaging app, said: “Telegram is privacy-oriented, but we’re no friends of terrorists.” Since Friday’s ban, Telegram agreed to block certain channels reported by the government.
