Linkin Park frontman commits suicide aged 41
Chester Bennington, the lead singer of US rock band Linkin Park, has committed suicide at the age of 41.
The musician was found hanged at a house in Los Angeles yesterday, according to entertainment website TMZ. Police said his body was found shortly before 9am.
The father of six had a history of drug and alcohol abuse. He had been married to Talinda Ann Bentley, a former model, for 12 years.
The singer was a close friend of Chris Cornell, the frontman of Soundgarden, who hanged himself in May. Bennington performed Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah with Brad Delson, his bandmate, at Cornell’s funeral.
