Virgin sorry for taking boy off Shanghai flight
Virgin Atlantic has caused outrage in China after crew members removed an unaccompanied 11-year-old boy from a flight from Shanghai to London.
The family had booked an “unaccompanied minors” seat for the boy, but after being seated, he was told he had to leave as that category had been overbooked.
“My son was clearly scared,” said the mother, who would only give her name as Mrs Liu.
Sir Richard Branson’s airline apologised for the incident and offered the family free flights to London.
