As part of the Gay
Britannia season, Andrew Scott (who plays Moriarty in
Sherlock) tells intertwined stories of gay culture and pop culture in the concluding episode of this two-part series. Here he focuses on the nightmare of the Aids epidemic, and the LGBT Eighties music scene that flourished in defiance of it. Rev Richard Coles (formerly of The Communards) and Andy Bell (Erasure) share their memories of the era, and singer Will Young provides his perspective on coming out as a gay star in the 21st century.
