Spirax-sarco profit up on buys

Recent acquisitions helped drive Spirax-sarco Engineering’s adjusted pre-tax profit up 30pc in the six months to June 30, though the valve maker said it does not anticipate making any further “significant” purchases in the next year. In 2016, it bought hose maker Aflax and in May acquired German firm Gestra.
