The eyebrows have it

SIR – David Pearson’s suggestion (Letters, August 15) that Jacob Reesmogg should be Speaker of the House of Commons is an excellent one. The eyebrows would make the ideal complement to the full-bottomed wig, and he would look well in the black stockings which no doubt would be resumed.

His mordant wit would demolish the most garrulous member, and he would bring great dignity to the role, lacking for many years past.
